
In the late 80’s, Vidya began her television career path with her role on the Emmy award-winning TV show, Club Connect, airing on PBS, ABC in some markets and on the Armed Forces Network globally. Through this 8-year stint on the show, she conducted many introspective and belief-enhancing celebrity interviews with top American artists in the music business from MC Lyte to Jamiroquai to DC Talk and Arrested Development to Soul Asylum and the Spin Doctors to name a few. In addition, she got the opportunity to host unique initiatives to support urban youth issues, with programming such as the Live All-Star Special, an anti-drug broadcast aired on all 3 major networks in multiple markets, and The Undefended Border: Teens & Drugs, a live call-in show simulcast on public TV stations in Canada and the U.S. She has been covered with the cast of Club Connect in national publications like TIME and People Magazines for positive contributions in educational TV and multimedia. Additionally, she began producing documentaries for PBS and EBU (European Broadcast Union).
Since 1998, she has moved her livelihood path in the direction of technology services, but continues to report on inspirational stories. She has been freelancing articles for business and technology publications such as Lightwave, CRM, siliconindia and HRExecutive magazines. She has guest-hosted live, televised events such as the annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, past Miss India Worldwide contests, as well as the IT Consulting World Conferences. In 2002, she wrapped up her production on a series about Learning Theory, a PBS-Annenberg Foundation-Stanford University initiative to educate young teachers on innovative teaching techniques.
Vidya is a certified PMP and a CISSP with over 20 years experience. As a Compliance Engineering Program Manager for the new Services Consulting team in Microsoft's Engineering Excellence organization, she moved to the corporate headquaters to establish and drive engineering policy compliance efforts across the company's online teams, after having managed Hotmail's Security & Monitoring Programs from Microsoft's Silicon Valley Campus for a couple of years. She is also currently pursuing a Masters in Psychology with a focus on Terrorism and Security. Her passion for ensuring the kind of confidentiality, safety, and reliabilty that protects both individuals and enterprises from theft, fraud, terrorism, defamation and other abuses, is evident in the choices she has made to prioritize right mindfulness with the career options she has always chosen.
